CONFOR.

Confor is a not-for profit membership organisation that promotes sustainable forestry and wood using businesses. They achieve this through political engagement, building upon the wood and forest product market and encouraging their members to be more competitive.

The Brief

After completing an extensive rebranding project for Confor, we were commissioned to design a variety of print communications to reflect their updated brand identity. This included the creation of brochures and stationery.

One of the focal points of this project was the design of their ‘Delivering Green Growth’ brochure, which was presented to the Scottish Government ahead of forthcoming elections. The brochure discussed the importance of forestry to Scotland’s economy and environmental status, as well as its social and recreational benefits.

The Creative Outcome

When designing the brochure, one of our priorities was to ensure that Confor’s core message was communicated in a compelling and easily digestible way. We achieved this primarily by creating pull-out sections, using colourful, circular forms to display quotes and Q&A features. Moreover, we used a clean, simplistic format and typographic hierarchy to present extensive and at times complex information. The use of engaging infographics helped further break up information and explain key points clearly and succinctly.

In order to strengthen Confor’s brand identity we used a natural colour palette and imagery such as wood and trees. This enhanced the aesthetic qualities of the communications, as well as creating an affinity with the logo design and reflecting the ethos of the brand.

The stationery and letterhead we designed adopted the simple, yet contemporary aesthetic visible across all communications, creating consistency and helping to establish brand loyalty and recognition.
