The Awards help to showcase the inspiring nursing practice and innovative nurse-led projects that are making a difference for patients, residents and service users.
RCN Scotland commissioned Firefly to create branding for the Awards that celebrated excellence and incorporated a Scottish theme to differentiate from other RCN regional awards.
We were tasked with creating a logo for the Awards that aligned with the existing RCN brand along with a range of online and offline communications to promote the awards. Furthermore, we created exhibition stands and various other printed collateral for the Awards ceremonies.

We created a logo marque based on a sash device to convey excellence, which incorporated a modern tartan pattern to clearly identify the Awards as being for the Scottish region. We utilised the RCN typeface and shades of blue from the existing colour palette, combined with a golden hue to further emphasise merit.
We designed a range of communications, including flyers, website graphics, social media graphics and a PowerPoint template to promote the Awards.
For the awards ceremonies, we designed invitations, varying sizes of exhibition stands, certificates, menu cards, and a brochure.
A tartan graphic pattern was created to be incorporated throughout communications as a key brand device, set against a deep blue gradient for impact. Metallic gold was incorporated into the print of the brochures and certificates to help convey the prestige of the awards.
Success! We've received your message and will get back to you as soon as possible. We look forward to chatting to you.
“It was a pleasure to work with Firefly on our branding, report templates and new website. We chose to work with them because they took time to understand us at the start of the process and that approach was apparent in all of the high-quality work they produced.”
