The Brief
We were commissioned by Scottish Rugby in partnership with The University of Edinburgh to develop research infographics evaluating the impact of lowering the tackle height in community rugby. As part of this project, we designed a series of infographics to visualise the findings of the study. These were compiled into a brochure which was printed and distributed to audience members during a presentation of their findings.
The Creative Outcome
Utilising Scottish Rugby’s brand typography and colours as a foundation, we developed engaging infographics that clearly and concisely communicated the statistics in the report. Drawing on the varying shades of blue from the colour palette, we introduced a dynamic, angular graphic device to convey a sense of movement, enhancing the overall look and feel of the publication.
To reinforce the impact of lowering the tackle height, large-scale statistics were utilised alongside emboldened key statements, allowing important facts and figures to be delivered effectively. We also designed and incorporated bespoke linear graphics to allude to measurements and graphs.
Through considered use of typographic hierarchy and colour, the publication guides the reader through the resource in a structured way, ensuring the information remains accessible and easy to digest. QR codes placed on the back cover direct readers to the full studies for both men’s and women’s rugby, positioning the booklet as an effective gateway to the wider research.
