Tasked with promoting the church, referred to as “Edinburgh’s Sistine Chapel”, the Trust commissioned Firefly to design and build their website. The brief specified that the website should showcase the beautiful murals by Phoebe Anna Traquair, a much-celebrated artist from the Arts and Crafts movement, as well as facilitating a database of information and photography.
The image-led website design features large scale, impactful photography, allowing the breathtaking murals and building to speak for themselves and captivating the Trust’s target audience. The responsive website design and easy to use navigation, enables visitors to access comprehensive information about the church quickly and seamlessly across desktop, tablet and mobile.
The use of highly legible typography and clear typographic hierarchy further facilitate an optimum user experience, guiding visitors through the website and breaking up key information in an easily digestible way. We used a clean, refined layout and a combination of white and red backgrounds. This minimal design allowed us to highlight important information, without distracting from the stunning imagery.
Success! We've received your message and will get back to you as soon as possible. We look forward to chatting to you.
“I have worked with Ben and his agency for many years, albeit in a paper promotional capacity. After discussions on an internal project, I was thrilled when he offered to produce work for ourselves.
Ben lead the way with concept to design and produced a great piece, Rock-Paper-Scissors. Feedback from our clients has been excellent and lovely to put a smile on faces when they identify the design. I hope to do more work with Firefly in the future.”
